Permanently Curl Your Hair
permanently curl your hair |
Permanent
curly hair treatment, also known as permanent curly hair ( perm ), is a
chemical treatment for hair that can be used to give shape and curls to the
hair. This treatment has two parts: the process of physically wrapping the
hair to form the hair and the chemical washing process that will break down and
then renew the hair disulfide bonds. Although it is rarely
done, you can do this procedure yourself at home, and if you choose to do it at
the salon, it will be very helpful if you can explain what you want accurately
and precisely.
Method-1
Preparation permanently curl your hair
1
Make sure that permanent curly hair is what you really want. As the name implies, perm means permanent - new non-curly hair will
grow, but other hair will be curly for up to 6 months, and after that the shape
will remain somewhat curly. If you want curly hair only a few days a week,
try a hot roller or a curling iron instead; if
you want hair that is shaped, curly, or wavy every day, permanent curling is
what you should do.
2
Get to know your hair type. It is very important to know the
type and condition of your hair. This is an important first step in
deciding what type of curling hair to take and to reduce side effects such as
hair loss and damage.
·
Hair that is resistant, gray hair
that is resistant, Asian hair, hair that has a low level of elasticity, fine
hair and rough or strong hair is usually best to use permanent hair curling
that is alkaline.
·
Healthy hair that has good
elasticity, colored hair, damaged hair, highlighted hair,
or brittle hair using permanent acidic curling is lighter.
·
If your hair has been dyed or
damaged too much, or if your hair type is typical African-American hair, the
best option might be to go to the salon. Look for a hairstylist who
specializes in hair like your hair to minimize damage.
3
Cut your hair first. Cutting hair after permanent
curling will be more difficult (though not impossible), so cut off the ends of
the split ends first.
·
Determine what you should do with
bangs (optional). If you have bangs, try to make plans for your bangs
before making permanent curling. Keep in mind that curly bangs will look
very bloated; if this style is not the look you want, you have to wait a
month or two for the bangs to elongate before doing hair perming treatments. If you decide to do
permanent curling even though you have bangs, ask yourself: Are you going to
keep the bangs straight? Will you permanently curl it?
4
In
addition, also determine which part of the curly hair will begin. If you curl the entire hair down
to the roots, remember that new, non-curly hair will grow.
5
Make your choice between
permanent hair curling at the salon or at home. You can permanently curl your
hair at home, and of course, this method is a little cheaper. However, if
curling is done by a hairdresser, you can entrust your curling to her, and she
will fix any mistakes for free. Consider the following:
·
If you want to try permanent,
fine curls, ask your hairdresser to do it. If you do it yourself, it's
likely that you will unintentionally do this procedure on excessive hair.
·
If the condition of your hair is
too damaged or has been colored too much, it would be nice if you make an
appointment at the salon. Damaged hair will give a different reaction to
the process of permanent curling than the reaction that will be shown by
healthy hair and trained hair stylists will know how to outsmart these
differences.
·
If your hair is a bit wavy or
curly, try to find a hairstylist who specializes in this type of hair. He
will be able to guarantee the appearance of smooth permanent curly hair, not
curly hair whose curls are uneven.
·
If your hair is healthy enough
and has good elasticity, have had permanent hair curling at home, or if you are
usually an expert at treating your own hair, you might be able to do permanent
hair curling at home.
6
Determine the type of permanent
curly you want. Do
you want small, tight curls? Or maybe you want bigger, more hanging
curls? Whatever type of curly is available, determine the type of curly
you want before starting to do permanent curling.
·
Keep in mind that curls will
become tighter when they are first released from the curler compared to later
times. Hair curls will "fall" a little over
time. Therefore, it's a good idea to curl your hair a little tighter than you want.
7
·
Set aside a lot of time. The permanent curling process can
take between 2 to 4 hours. After that, you have to "leave it"
for 24 hours, which means that hair shouldn't be washed, styled or
tied. In addition, you may not wash your hair for up to 48 hours after
curling. Make sure you can adjust your daily schedule with these limits.
Method-2
Permanently Curl Your Hair at Home
1
Ask
friends for help. Working hair behind your head can be difficult for you and will
take more time. Asking a friend to help speed up the curling process, and
to make sure curling rollers roll hair tightly, can reduce your difficulties.
2
Buy
a home-made permanent curling kit. This equipment can usually be
obtained at supermarkets, pharmacies, or beauty supply stores.
3
Read and understand the
instructions on the packaging. If you will be helped by someone
else, make sure he also reads the instructions on the package. Pay special
attention to each time limit.
4
Comb your hair and decay
tangled hair.
5
Wash
your hair using shampoo and conditioner. Use hair nourishing treatments
that are rich in protein (which may be included in the equipment you
bought). Do not use heavy conditioner (which weighs on the hair), because
it can prevent the formation of curls on the hair.
·
Do not wrap your hair in a towel
after shampooing. Additional friction on brittle wet hair can cause frizz
and damaged hair. Instead, pat the hair slowly and carefully until the
hair is moist, not wet.
·
If you need to comb your hair
again, comb gently and carefully using a wide-toothed comb, while breaking down
the tangled hair starting from the tip of the moving hair to the scalp.
6
·
Wear proper protective
equipment. Permanent
curling chemicals are not designed for use on the skin. Always wear gloves
that will protect the skin from chemicals (any type of plastic gloves you can
generally use).
7
Protect
the skin around the neck, face, and scalp using petroleum jelly-like Vaseline. Don't
forget your ears! Dab petroleum jelly throughout
the hairline. This will prevent chemicals from flowing through the skin.
8
Put
an old towel around your shoulders. Under the towel, wear clothes
that won't make you sad if you lose them, like an old T-shirt and sweatpants.
9
Divide
the hair into four equal parts. Use non-metallic hair clips to
hold parts of the hair that are not working. You can also use any hair
clips.
10
Install curling rods. There are many types of curling
rods to produce various types of permanent curling.
·
When wrapping hair, start from
the top of the hair down.
·
Place the curling paper behind
and in front of the hair, then curl the hair on the curling bar.
·
Do not unite or make hair gather
/ group when curling it on the curling rod.
·
The density of curls in the hair
depends on the size of the curling rod, the density of the hairdressing and
how long the curling fluid is left on the hair.
·
For the most natural-looking
curls, use straight or cylindrical curling rods. This type of curling rod
allows you to curl your hair the same width from top to bottom.
·
Unless you are very confident in
your ability, avoid curling rods that are spiral or concave for home use.
11
·
Dab permanent curling
fluid. Start
from the scalp, so the fluid works longer in the area. Carefully massage
curling fluid into all hair.
12
·
Give the right temperature for
curing liquid. Let
the curling liquid sink in for the time needed to get the effect you want.
13
·
Rinse hair thoroughly until
it's completely free of curling liquid. It is very important to rinse all
the liquid from your hair.
14
·
Use a professional neutralizing
liquid. The
neutralizing fluid starts the process of rebuilding damaged proteins in the
hair.
15
·
Dry your hair using a towel
carefully or by wringing your hair with a towel. Turn your head down and shake
your head slowly. Make sure you don't let the towel damage the new curls
on your hair because they take up to 24 hours to form. Do not comb your
hair when curly hair, just massage or knead your hair.
16
·
Permanently permed hair
requires a lot of attention and care. Learning to care for your
permanent curly hair is an important step in any hair care.
Method-3
Permanently Curl Your Hair in the
Salon
1
Convey exactly what you want. When consulting with your
hairdresser before curling, tell exactly what you expect from this curling
process. Explain how you usually style your hair, how big are the curls
you want, and which products you are likely to use.
·
Keep in mind that permanent curling
which produces bigger and looser curls is sometimes referred to as a
waveform. If this is what you want, use the term when describing it with
your hairdresser.
2
·
Plan to spend up to 4 hours in
the salon. If
you feel you are going to experience boredom, take a few magazines from the waiting room, or bring a pocketbook that doesn't make you feel heavy if
chemicals drip on the book.
3
If the aroma is increasingly unbearable, ask your hairdresser to
give a wet washcloth. The chemicals used for permanent curling are likely to give off
a dangerous odor and can irritate your nose. If this starts happening,
ask for a wet washcloth and place it on your nose and mouth, then breathe
through the wet washcloth.
·
If chemicals start to irritate
the eyes, close your eyes. This will not last forever.
4
Rate
the results you get when the curling process is complete. It is important to remember that
the resulting curls will be a little tighter soon after the curling process is
finished, rather than a few days later. If you are not satisfied with an
aspect of the curling result, let your hairdresser know what you think before
leaving the salon. He can make plans to fix the shortcomings as soon as
possible.
